1847 Land Indenture:

Surnames on this antique paper Document: Melvin H. and Harriet C. Davis; Henry Birdsall; C.J. McDowell, J.P. and P.C. Cook; clerk, Dan H. Davis (presumably Daniel Davis) and Henry and John VanWormer mentioned, Surveyed by Hiram Clason. Towns: Conhocton, Steuben County, NY New York.

A large handwritten Victorian era deed to land, printed by R. Fairchild, Dansville from Melvin Davis and wife to Henry Birdsall. Found in Genesee County NY, it has some tears at folded seams, but is intact. It is a wonderful piece of Steuben County history. Signed by both Davis family members for $1343.40 for a 67 acre plot of property on the mill pond on the Conhocton River, surveyed by Hiram Clason. It also has some remnant of early orange sealing wax.
