1860’s Vintage Victorian CDV Photo

On reverse: ‘Bennie S. Buckley’ handwritten at top back in old pencil. This is again very lightly written clearly as ‘B. Buckley’ under photographer’s stamp in a different hand. Photo Type: CDV Carte de Visite Photograph of young boy.

Photographer: Wilson & Davis, 275 Main St., Bridgeport State: Connecticut, Fairfield Found in Essex County, MA. This is an 1860’s Civil War era photograph. In the Victorian era, boys wore frocks with pleated skirts, or tunics and blouses over pleated skirts, until the age of three or five. Census records might read Ben Buckley.
